Can lifestyle predict how we age? The speed we age? And can we slow this process?

Updated: Mar 9, 2020

Who wants to age, let alone age faster?? No one I am sure. Nothing can stop us from ageing though, with that being said, we can certainly slow the process by making better choices. Several successful Ageing studies have shown that lifestyle choices are in fact two-thirds of what predicts how well we age.

Pomegranate

This is one of my favourite fruits of all times; being a Persian I grew up with this epic tree in the back yard. Pomegranate is a rich source of riboflavin (also known as vitamin B2), phosphorus (Phosphorus is full of mineral in your body, which is needed to filtering waste and repairing tissue and cells), vitamins and minerals that will stimulate beautiful skin by increasing its collagen. Collagen supplies your skin firmness and elasticity.

Berries

Berries have the highest concentrations of antioxidants out of any fruit and high levels of Vitamin C to support and maintain the collagen that keeps your skin looking firm and wrinkle-free.“Do you have a design in mind for your blog? Kiwifruit

This really excites me. We are so fortunate to live in Kiwi-land. The strong antioxidant compounds in this little green fruit firm the skin and delay the formation of fine lines and wrinkles. This is mostly due to their high Vitamin C and E content which help reduce skin damage due to free radicals.  Kiwifruits anyone!!

Avocado

Avocado is rich in Vitamin E and the B-complex, both wonderfully nourishing for your skin. The potassium will help keep you moisturized and hydrated. It also contains glutathione, which assists in the wait for it … Anti-aging process. Broccoli

Broccoli has the power to stop the aging process. Broccoli is very high in fibre and is simply packed with nutrients. It is rich in chemicals called indoles (aromatic organic compounds that are powerful in antioxidant) that slows the aging process.

Spinach

Another antioxidant!  An anti-ageing food is Spinach. This makes it the perfect food for your skin, hair, and nails. Some of the benefits of Spinach are omega 3 fatty acids and great anti-inflammatory food and Helps your body keep the right amount of water.

Red Capsicum

Who would have thought that Red capsicum is an immunity-boosting superstar containing about 60% more vitamin C than its green counterpart? This initiates the production of white blood cells that fight off germs and bacteria. It can keep you looking young: A study in The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition found that people with diets high in vitamin C were less likely to wrinkles, oh yeah… this is because the nutrient assists the production of collagen whoop whoop.. Red Capsicum salad anyone!! Well I hope you enjoyed reading my first ever blog eeek….
