Improve Skin Texture and Reduce Lines, Wrinkles And Scarring

Microneedling helps to increase your collagen production, thereby improving the texture of your skin, and reducing fine lines and scarring.

Studies have shown significant improvements of wrinkles and scars. Researchers have demonstrated increased collagen and elastin thickness in skin. The improvements were subtle and gentle. The efficiency and results may be enhanced using combination treatments such as Micro-needling with chemical peels and/or platelet-rich plasma (components found in blood that enhance healing).

For the greatest improvement in your skin, we recommend a course of treatments combined with Skin Peel to help condition your skin. Package deals are available to suit your needs.

How it works

The procedure causes a wound response, which stimulates collagen production - the natural repairing mechanism of the skin.

When our skin is damaged, it produces collagen tissue, which is stronger and firmer than before. With micro-needling treatments, collagen fibers are strengthened and the skin becomes stronger, smoother, and firmer, with improved texture.

The micro-needling device can be used to administer ‘Active ingredients” (hyaluronic acid, vitamins, and amino acids) much deeper into the dermis, to be penetrated and absorbed while stimulating the skin to renew itself.

The combination of micro-needling with the use of serums boosts collagen production for firmer and more youthful looking skin.

A safe, effective, and inexpensive appearance treatment with natural results

Microneedling is considerably less expensive than other rejuvenating procedures such as resurfacing lasers, and has been found to be effective at promoting collagen.

Fortunately, complications are uncommon following microneedling treatments. Skin infections, reactivation of herpes simplex (cold sores), inflamed pigmentation and aggravation of skin diseases have been reported. Raised scarring has also been reported, but is rare. The superficial needle holes close rapidly (in around 15 minutes), which means getting a skin infection is highly unlikely.

What to expect when you get a microneedling treatment

The Procedure

SNAC’s highly trained clinician uses a specialised device called Skin Tech Micro-needling to create micro punctures on the treatment area.

Numbing cream is optional and can be applied before the treatment to make you as comfortable as possible. You will experience a little scratching during this treatment.

The treatment is suitable for most people, and only takes around 60 minutes and depending on the severity of the skin damage being treated, your clinician will advise you on the course of treatments to achieve the best results.

Recovery and Aftercare

Recovery time is relatively short. In fact, most people notice the redness and swelling reduce in a few hours. This is convenient for those with busy lifestyles. Your skin will be highly sensitive, best to wait for 24 hours before any makeup is applied. Using recommended hydration cream or serums for the next few days is crucial to your skin’s healing process. It is recommended to avoid sun for 3 days after this procedure, and to apply sunscreen when outdoors. No exercise or strenuous activity for the first 12 hours of this treatment to prevent redness and bruising.
