Improve Skin Texture, Lines, Acne, Pigmentation, Wrinkles And Scarring

Trichloroacetic (TCA) peel is an effective chemical peel used to exfoliate and renew skin on a superficial to deep level depending on the percentage of TCA is being used.

Is a chemical peel right for you?

Your skin is unique, and so are your needs. If you’re considering a chemical peel as a treatment option, please book a complimentary skin consultation to determine if this is the right treatment for you.

The TCA peel is an effective treatment in the following areas:

  • It helps reduce wrinkles

  • Acne and large pores are improved

  • Corrects pigmentation irregularities, such as sun damaged skin

  • Addresses uneven skin tones & discoloration from pregnancy

  • Targets deep wrinkles & scars

  • Improves and lifts sagging skin

  • Helps even-out texture issues

TCA is commonly applied to the face, neck, décolleté, hands and legs. In addition, TCA is also an excellent “spot treatment” and can be used to exclusively peel isolated areas of the skin.

Treatments tailored for your individual needs

Most people want a short recovery. The epidermis and superficial dermis peel, heals in three to five days. This treatment is less painful, has a quicker recovery and is more cost effective than some intense treatments such as laser.

The benefits of superficial TCA peels are many, but among the most notable is the ability to adjust the depth to fit the skin problem. As more coats are applied, the peel will get deeper, as the solution goes looking for protein to neutralize itself.

The long-lasting results make it an ideal treatment for those who prefer less peeling with only moderate recovery time.

Highly Formulated and Effective Skin Treatment

TCA is a deeper penetrating peel than AHA or BHA peels as it exfoliates the skin more rapidly upon initial contact. TCA peels are recommended for a range of skin conditions from acne, fine lines and wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, stretch marks and skin tone concerns.

What to expect when you get a chemical peel

Before your treatment

For best results, prep the skin for a week prior to peel application with a daily exfoliator.

The Procedure

Most clients will feel a mild stinging or burning sensation during application. The skin may become a bit red or pinkish in colour. Frosting may occur with this peel, although not typical. This treatment will usually take about 30 to 40 mins.

The recovery

Recovery time and peeling will be mild after this treatment. The client may experience peeling similar to the peeling after mild sunburn, for up to two weeks.

The aftercare

With a chemical peel, the name says exactly what the skin is supposed to do—peel. The purpose is to remove the top layers of the skin along with any discolored cells within those layers. This process happens as the skin peels. While it’s not always ideal to walk around with flaky skin, you have to be very mindful not to interfere with the process. Let Mother Nature do her thing. Simply put, you have to accept the peeling and avoid doing whatever you can to make it stop before it's ready to. The goal is to keep the skin feeling moist, calm and comfortable.

1. Treat your skin gently – very light touch when massaging products on your skin. No aggressive rubbing, and avoid using washcloths or cleansing brushes after your chemical peel.

2. You must wear sunscreen 30+ after a chemical peel – stating the obvious I know, but the skin is very vulnerable post-peel. So do protect your skin by limiting time outdoors and using sunscreen.

3. Use only prescribed products by your administer after chemical peel. As your skin is healing, it’s vital that you listen and follow your clinician’s advice about which products are beneficial for healing your skin and any follow up products thereafter. The aim is to provide as much comfort to your skin as possible to ease redness and irritation.

I recommend my clients use the following products:
